Oil analysis state reporting
Oil analysis is conventionally understood as the analysis of the chemical composition of oil in laboratory conditions. However, to the owner and user of an oil-based system, this is only the beginning. What becomes more important than the actual chemical composition is what interpretation we give to those results and how they end up affecting the way we view, treat and maintain oil.
KiL Yhtiöt's condition statements shall endevour to provide our customers with deeper insight into the condition of their oil and its usefulness. For this reason, we provide our customers with oil condition statements, which not only contain a conventional oil analysis, but also our expert opinions in how different variables may be affecting your oil. This results in pointed recommendations that highlight the practical importance of oil as well as how the oil should be maintained in order to keep it in top condition as long as possible.
Our condition report is not just our expert opinion, it is also a concise statement on the cleanliness state of the oil. Analyses are made using the ISO 4405: 1991 standard for testing oil's insoluble impurities. Such analyses may identify the quantity and quality of impurities, and potentially their source. Purity/Cleanliness Analysis also always includes an oil state opinion. Additionally, the oil purity opinion may included an analysis based on the ISO 4496: 1999 standard, in accordance with the PAMAS particle counter.
